Finish boards
A board is how a finish gets approved
Color on a screen or a chip is not the finish. A board is.
A board is a panel on the same substrate as your job (maple, MDF, primed poplar), sprayed with the system the proposal names. Color, sheen and system are written on the back. You approve the board in writing, and we spray the job to it.
Sprayed on the substrate your job uses
Color, sheen and system written on the back
A match to a sample you send, if you have one

How it works
From request to approval
Five steps. Nothing is sprayed on the job until you have signed the board.
- 1
Step 1: Request
Tell us the finish, the substrate and the date you need approval.
- 2
Step 2: Confirm
We write back the system, sheen and substrate before we spray.
- 3
Step 3: Spray
Boards are sprayed in the booth, with the doors of other jobs.
- 4
Step 4: Ship
The board travels with a card your office can keep.
- 5
Step 5: Approve
You sign the board. The job is sprayed to it.
Questions
About boards
Can you match a finish we already have?
Yes, from a door, a drawer front or a physical sample. We spray a board and you approve it in writing; matching is by eye and by sample, so the approved board matters more than a paint code.
What does a finish board cost?
The first set for a project goes out with the proposal request. A further round is quoted before we spray it, and the terms are in the proposal.
Which finish systems do you spray?
Waterborne and catalyzed systems, named in each proposal along with the sheen and the number of coats. Ask for the product data sheet if your specification names a product.
